I am South African Women's Cricketer. I am a leg spinner and top to middle order batter. Born in Pretoria and currently living on the east coast of South Africa in a town called Port Elizabeth. I love my family and friends. I love spending time with them outside of cricket. I'm a very proud South African.
How did you get into cricket?
I started playing backyard cricket with my older brother and I guess the love of the game started there. I am very fortunate to have a family that are all cricket lovers. The moment my parents saw that I had a bit of talent, they didn't hesitate to make the necessary sacrifices for me to make sure I have a fair chance to make it to where I am today. For that I'm very thankful.
What bat are you currently using?
I very recently signed with Hammer cricket. Great company to be a part of.
Ground you’re most looking forward to playing at?
I would love to play at Lord's in England. Just the history and the stories I've heard about how great it is to play there makes me really hope I can play there one day.
Is women's cricket heading in the right direction?
Absolutely. I'm very excited to be part of this era's women's cricketers. The tournaments like the WBBL in Australia and the Super League in England shows that Women's cricket are on the up and I cannot wait to see what talent will be displayed at those tournaments. The quality of cricketers and the skill levels of the women are going through the roof. Loving to see that it is heading in the right direction.
How did you come to faith?
I gave my heart to Jesus a very young age. It was at a youth service with all my friends. I am very lucky that I have grown up in a house where I knew and learned about Christ my whole life.
Is it easy being a Christian cricket player?
I think so yes. Even though our team has lots of different religious beliefs and cultures, we still have a very healthy environment where we respect and accept each other's beliefs. I try to carry myself in that manner that people can see that I am a child of Christ although I'm not successful all the time.
How does being on tours for long periods of time effect you faith?
For me it is a big test, especially on very long tours. I am a very competitive and aggressive player by nature and sometimes when things don't go well on the field I tend to forget where I need to draw strength from. It takes me a few days to realise that I cannot get through a tough and long tour without making sure my faith is where it should be.
Which has country do you enjoy to tour the most?
West Indies. Just love the the place. Its just amazing.
What 3 things do you have to make sure you have packed for a cricket tour?
Besides my kit. My bible first and foremost, my cellphone and my tablet.
